Nudging & Communication

Nudging influences the consumption behavior of your guests. But what exactly does nudging mean?

Nudging is a stimulus to change people’s behaviour. To be considered mere nudging, the intervention must be simple, cheap and non-coercive. Typical nudging techniques in the hospitality industry include offering smaller portions, single servings or using smaller bowls and plates to avoid food waste; or providing sustainability information in the form of signs and labels to hotel guest to stimulate more sustainable behaviour.
